The pan-Mediterranean digital campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the UNEP/MAP follows its route also in 2026 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Barcelona Convention through a more and more rich constellation of events around the Mediterranean Sea

The Convention, under the theme “Tourism Transition in the Mediterranean”, features a two-day programme combining plenary sessions, round tables and parallel sessions focused on climate change, water management, biodiversity, the circular economy, destination digitalisation, and the role of tourism within the Mediterranean blue economy.

The event will include strong institutional participation and bring together leading experts from universities, research centres, European networks, development agencies, tourism destinations, and the 22 Thematic and Strategic Projects of the Sustainable Tourism Mission of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme.
