The pan-Mediterranean digital campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the UNEP/MAP follows its route also in 2026 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Barcelona Convention through a more and more rich constellation of events around the Mediterranean Sea

The 8th Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration (EMCEI-2026) builds on prior achievements to position itself as the key venue in the Euro-Mediterranean region for showcasing and debating cutting-edge environmental science research from this region and around the world.

The EMCEI is the largest conference covering all themes of environmental sciences and engineering in the Euro-Mediterranean region (500-600 in-person and online attendees from over 80 countries). The EMCEI’s objective is to help societies in the region achieve a sustainable environment by promoting and disseminating research that addresses the most pressing environmental concerns.


The main objectives of the conference are to support research and innovation, promote the exchange of scientific knowledge, and foster collaboration between Euro-Mediterranean communities and their counterparts around the world. The conference participants will have an opportunity to attend several presentations on new indicators and directions in research, development and innovations in the multidisciplinary fields of the environmental sciences.
