The symposium is hosted by the School of Tourism and Maritime Technology (ESTM), Polytechnic of Leiria, together with MARE – Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre, and in collaboration with the EuroMarine Network. EMBS 2026 builds on the success of recent symposia held in Naples (Italy), Reykjavik (Iceland), and Bodø (Norway).
The European Marine Biology Symposium brings together marine biologists, ecologists, oceanographers, blue biotechnologists, and environmental scientists from Europe and beyond to exchange ideas, present cutting-edge research, and discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in marine science. The meeting fosters interdisciplinary dialogue and provides a vibrant platform for both early-career and established researchers.
