The UfM Mediterranean Green Week is an annual event organised by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) dedicated
to fostering climate resilience, energy transition, sustainability, and inclusive green transformation in the Euro
Mediterranean region.
The 3rd edition will take place fully online (30 June – 3 July 2026): the event brings together national focal points, institutional partners, civil society organisations, financial institutions, and the wider public around four interconnected themes: climate action, energy transition, water resilience, and civil protection/disaster risk
management.
Each day of the Mediterranean Green Week hosts a dedicated regional platform or working group meeting, convening
representatives of the 43 UfM Member States alongside key regional and international partners. Most days also include
open sessions accessible to all interested stakeholders.
The 2026 edition is held under the co-presidency of the European Union and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with the UfM Secretariat serving as the coordinating body across all four tracks.
Day 1 — Tuesday, 30 June 2026 | Climate Action
This Day 1 convenes Member State Climate Focal Points to launch the formal consultation on the Mediterranean Climate Action Plan (CAP), the operational instrument translating the 2021 Cairo Ministerial Declaration into a regional implementation framework across four pillars: climate ambition and NDC alignment; adaptation and resilience; climate finance and project pipeline development; and enabling systems including data, transparency, and just transition instruments. The day also addresses the Mediterranean Pavilion at COP31 Antalya (November 2026), offering a critical alignment of a Mediterranean host country, an emerging regional climate plan, and a global platform. The afternoon Open Public Conference is open to all partners, financial institutions, civil society, and the public.
