The May 21 webinar will feature Federica Borile, postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bologna. Her work focuses on improving ocean modeling and enhancing the simulation of key processes such as water mass formation, mesoscale dynamics, and decadal sea level trends.
The study investigates decadal mean sea level variability in the Mediterranean Sea (1993–2022) using satellite altimetry, tide gauges, and reanalyses. Results show an Eastern Mediterranean sea level trend slowdown mainly driven by increased evaporation, highlighting the need for continued monitoring to improve projections and inform effective adaptation strategies.
